Empty Suitcase is a frame-by-frame animated music video for the song by Fotini Velesiotou, exploring the emotional aftermath of a separation: a promise left unfulfilled, a journey that never reached its destination, and a suitcase carrying the weight of what was left behind. Moving through denial, anger, grief, nostalgia and, eventually, acceptance, the story follows the suitcase as a symbol of the memories and expectations we struggle to let go of. In the end, it finds its place among the other suitcases of the past — reminders of journeys we were once promised but never got to take.

The animation is created frame by frame in a raw, monochromatic visual language. The fragility of the hand-drawn line reflects the emotional vulnerability of the story: constantly shifting, imperfect and almost disappearing, much like a memory we try to hold onto. The black-and-white world strips the image down to its emotional core, creating a sense of emptiness, distance and futility. Through this limited palette and the delicate, expressive quality of the line, the animation explores the quiet weight of things that never happened — and the bittersweet process of finally letting them go.
